It would be nice in the library advanced features to allow only movies with a certain rating to be in that library. I understand I can make a children’s account and limit it that way, but I would like to just be able to make a Kids Library that has everything filtered also, so that way I am not constantly having to change between user accounts.
Just to make sure I get your point…
you want Plex to scan movies, match them but only show them in the library if it matches a certain age rating?!
Side note… a managed account for your kid/kids might indeed be easier. This will not only cover the content within that library but also online media sources and all other libraries.
For the time until your kids get their own managed user (with its own watch history etc.)… you might instead create a smart playlist and access the library through that (creating a custom filter for the appropriate content ratings and saving it as a playlist).
