Adult Recommendations are not acceptable (NSFW)

YouTube / Alphabet no doubt have a lot more leverage than Plex in working out integration agreements.

What?!! Where did I say that?

This is an absolute LIE! This is libel!

I have been asking only for an OFF SWITCH at the Account Level for all of the new Discover features. That is it!

Bweezy21, I have flagged your post for moderation. You cannot go around continually mischaracterizing people’s positions. I have ask you for quotes that support your claims from me and the “others” you keep mentioning, but you have never provided any. However, you continue to commit libel and now have singled me out for some reason.

This is all crazy man. Too much to sift through in these ridiculously long threads.

I will most likely leave Discover turned on and then if possible disable the search bar from fetching 3rd party sources.

If I want to use the functionality I can always search from within Discover itself and leave my search bar to the media I have already.

Hope it works out.

It’s all a garbled mess.

To be fair I still want the search bar to pull up sources that are provided by Plex themselves. That is completely fine IMO. As far as them being enabled.

I’d personally prefer a toggle, that allows me to keep my searches internal to my server and the servers that are shared with me, as they were before Discover. I’m not keen on my search terms going out past my server group.

no worries went back through your 97 posts for proof:

The internal discussions should be, “Let’s be a company that empowers our users. We need to give them the full control over THEIR servers and THEIR content. and THEIR data.”

Can we please have the same control over our Plex servers?

I’m speaking on my friends’ behalf. I’m sharing their needs in regards to outside sourced content controls…really just need an Account Level “Off Switch.”

IF we can control all content at the Account Level and add those accounts to Plex Home.

Agreed. If Plex attempts to only provide their own filters and no admin controls, I’ll be forced to leave Plex. My users and my family cannot accept anything less for good reasons (as shown this past weekend on this forum).

I haven’t heard a single word of commitment to grant us the ability to control what content appears in our clients other than Managed Users.

I just want Plex to provide me with the tools to allow me to make the choice for my family and friends, who request that I do (with my local content).

I’m just wanting tools for outside content restriction as well. Honestly, for me and my friends, just an OFF SWITCH will do.

See, this is the problem. Plex wants to define it instead of allowing us, the admins, to define it for our families and friends.

Because they currently CANNOT decide with Discover. - this was in response to a user asking why admins need control

Right now that is EVERYTHING outside of my local content, and probably always will be.

you have said completely conflicting things on this topic which is why myself and others have repeatedly asked you for clarification on what the hell you are asking for.

I think it already works that way if you don’t have the Plex provided content enabled. I’m not sure though because I have it all enabled for my family and friends.

Let’s not start counting each others’ post counts, shall we?

Such behavior could easily end up having a very adverse reaction

i’ve been accused of libel. so provided proof.

I know it’s easy to look up sources for shows but I do find it convenient to quickly check if a show or movie I’m thinking about recording is available elsewhere.

Yep, not a single quote that implies what you claimed, "assert any ownership of, or control over, users with whom you share your server"

ChuckPa understood me perfectly and is providing that solution to us all: an OFF SWITCH at the Account Level.

wouldn’t it be awesome if it also played right there in plex if you had authentication credentials for it?

Yea I agree. Discover is a cool feature. I guess it’s all about the toggle switches lol…

The future relies on toggle switches!

I prefer buttons but I wont get THAT picky.

the very first quote on that list is pretty obvious your requests. lol.

i even provided you the nice ones where it was unclear what you were asking for to show no bias in my quoting.

What? Where do I mention “ownership and control over shared users?”

Bweezy21 you are a liar. I’m not name calling, just saying what is now fact.

We will NEVER be able to control settings for accounts that are outside the scope of Managed Users.

If they can sign into plex.tv with their own username/e-mail we don’t get the right to disable things on their account… even if they are part of a Plex Home.
