Adult Recommendations are not acceptable (NSFW)

Debbie (Deborah Marie Taylor, seasons 11–14).

the question i wanna ask is how we sure the op is not serving pron in his server? lmao. thats the only way youd have that result. algorithms would not produce something random data. its likely adult content is enable and library is plagued with pron sht and plex algorithms is producing out of those data.

Oh, I can still reproduce it :slight_smile:

VERY likely there are no filters asserted for the library.

@per_PLEX_ed

Leave the above there please. I’m forwarding to the team.

Sex education is a show, available on netflix.

Not porn :slight_smile:

While we can all agree, this is an issue, I think it is a symptom.

The core issue in my mind is, why does Plex opt in customers by default, for any online sources?

I see. But… my argument stands… I still don’t appreciate those search results - hence the suggestion to make this “Discover” optional so it will revert to searching just our own server content. For finding content (porn or otherwise) that is not in Plex, in my opinion there are better ways anyway.

I absolutely agree, just didn’t want to conflate it

@per_PLEX_ed

In your server settings and section definitions, do you allow adult content?

I’m trying to figure out where the focal point is.

Living in the US and having lived in Europe, I know first hand Americans are more sensitive to this “PG” content than Europeans – most of the time.

I’m trying to determine if “Allow adult content” and the results returned are related.

It was tested with adult content turned off before the watch more with section was disabled.

Its no different than earlier with the content showing up on managed home users.

PLEASE do not make these sorts of assumptions when the base issue has been clearly with Plex on this. That comment really rubs me the wrong way.

Even if you got x rated stuff in your library
This option should be optional and by default be disabled

Any way to address this on the web app aside from not using app.plex.tv? Not as critical, but still.

@ChuckPa where do I find those settings? It’s been so long since we set up Plex… our location is Canada by the way.

@josephmgaffney

I’m not defending Plex. Yes, the is a problem.

I’m TRYING to figure out WHAT IS NEEDED.

I know, from first hand experience, the differences.
I’m not asserting I’m an authority. I’m only sharing my observation.

If you disagree with me, please do so objectively. Please DO NOT tell me I “rub you the wrong way”.

If you search the forum, you’ll see where I freely admit when I’m wrong.
If I’m wrong here – please point it out.

Each library section has the flag.

I said the comment, not you.

You made an assumption that adult content was enabled and asserted as if it was the case for OP.

You also said “PG” content, which is kind of dismissive as it was XXX.

We have objectively stated the issues and provided context. If you’re wondering if Adult Content was enabled or not - THAT is the question you ask, not an assertion you make.

Thanks, nope, not enabled:

I can reproduce this problem by starting at the Home page, selecting Search and typing “Mister Ed” into the search bar. Under “More Ways to Watch” the show Sex Education is the first entry. So I don’t believe the Library setting for “Allow Adult Content” would affect this in any way.

If I click on the show to bring up it’s card, it shows that it’s only available on Netflix (as it’s not in my library)

Seem’s like Plex is going to have to implement an account level rating restriction system. This show does have a TV-MA rating.

For context from my testing:

Include Adult Content is disabled.
