Advices to develop a remote control ?

Hi

 

I'm programming some home automation system and I'd like to develop a program that would allow me to contral a plex player from my home automation system. What is the best way to do it ? the idea would be to be able to "mimic" something similar to the web interface of Plex and when you hit Play for an audio or vidéo media it's played on a specific player connected to the PMS.

Thanks for link I had already seen that and it looks I can scan media libraries and select each media individually and get multiple infos related to PMS and what is happening but I still have one concern. Is it possible, once I browsed the library to access the specific media I want to play, to start playing that media on a specific player of the system ? as my automation system is just a remote and not a player !
