First of all, excuse my poor english since i am from South America and my native tongue is spanish.
My question is quite simple. I own two apple tvs, airport express, iphone, imac and macbook air, etc and i want to buy a nas server just to be able to play content at home (movies, music and photos) throught the apple tvs.
All my movies are .m4v and audio files are apple lossless.
Since Nas are quite expensive in here, i would like to ask you guys, which one to buy so i wont have any future problems/compatibility issues. I currently have 8 teras of information if its relevant and a 50 megas download speed connection.
Hello. I want to buy a plex pass and use all plex advantages. But for some reasons, my messages didnt have any answers and i still dont know if a Nas will work for me.
I know the topic must have been discussed. I already spent hours and hours reading but cant find any conclusive answer.
I own a Synology DS1019+ and a QNAP TS-453be as well.
Both have the Intel Celeron J3455 CPU, which supports Intel QSV and therefore PLEX hardware transcoding. The QNAP will certainly work well for you, but you’ll need the PLEX PASS, of course.
Thanks for answering! One more problem. All my movies are in m4v with subtitles inside the container. I can decide wheather to show them or not. Will that need transcoding? Please remember i am on an apple enviroment
