After upgrade to 1.7.6.4058 DVR records only using TS container

Platform: Windows 10
After upgrading to 1.7.6.4058 PLEX, all DVR recordings are using now TS container instead of MKV I used to have before. Does anyone have the same issue? Is there a way to roll back to a previous release?

You would need to run the install package for the previous version with 1.7.5 being the newest before the change.

The change to mpegts was one of the 3 changes in version 1.7.6:

(DVR) Use MPEGTS for all DVR recordings

Any particular reason why MKV was dropped? Seems odd. I had a better experience with the Plex DVR using MKV rather than TS.

plex has really not provided a reason but the speculation is because for users with hearing disabilities the closed captioning/sub titles was completely broken when Plex switched from ts to mkv. You can always use Post processing to convert recordings from ts to mkv or some other format. I use mcebuddy to remove commercials and convert to mp4.

Thank you, John.

That was very informative!
