Hi,
Plex can playback recordings made with Elgato’s EyeTV software just fine. Now it would be awesome if we had a metadata agent that would pick up all the information from the EyeTV recordings. Everything is right there, plot, actors, TV channel…
Anyone?

I was looking for the same and installed the eyetv.py scanner.
Works great, don’t forget to make the latest changes to make it work. Screenshot added here.

Most of the important metadata is added.
I set up the eyetv scanner and it works well but Plex doesn’t play the EyeTV recordings for me here in Australia. Mostly the playback doesn’t even start but sometimes it starts and then stops after a few seconds. Also Plex gets the duration completely wrong - sometimes it will say that a 45min show is 26 hours long!!
To combat this problem I use an applescript to export as program stream and then delete the original recording. This has been working really well except the metadata is a problem. Now that the recording is being deleted, all the eyetv metadata has gone - I think I’ll get the applescript (that does the export) to copy the metadata file so the eyetv scanner can read the info from there.
