Noticed that when i shut down PMS and the computer it’s running on I can’t connect to internet with My apple tv. Youtube, vimeo etc dosen’t connect.
I also get airplay issues from my ipad. The loading symbol shows up on the apple tv but nothing more happens.
All of this issues is solved if i start PMS on my PC. Does it have to be like this?
PlexConnect acts as a DNS server for your AppleTV. Unless it is running, your AppleTV cannot connect to the internet, which means nothing will work. You would have to go into Settings and change the DNS server back to the default (likely you would need to change it back to Automatic) in order for the AppleTV to work when PlexConnect isn't running.

Correct, PlexConnect needs to be running. But why does it affects on airplaying? I can airplay music and mirroring, but not video clips. The apple tv reacts but nothing more than it tries to load.

Airplay video sends the URL of the video to the AppleTV (i.e. on YouTube). If the AppleTV can't find that URL (if it can't connect to the Internet), it won't play the video. Music, on the other hand, streams directly from the iPhone to the AppleTV - no need for the AppleTV to connect to the Internet - it just needs to be on the same network as the iPhone. Mirroring also streams directly from the iPhone to the AppleTV, so again there is no need for the AppleTV to be online.
