English is not my native language so sorry for any mistakes.
I run Plex and plex connect on my pc and watch all content on my ATV 3 (added certificates and so on), and everything works fine.
There is small problem when I try to airplay any movie from web through Ipad to my TV by ATV it isn’t working. It is loading and after something like 3 minutes I show some kind of error. It is only working when plex connect is turned on my Pc .I can also mirror my screen from Ipad (without plexconnect turned on on my PC, but the difference in ratio make it hard to watch).
I have been googling and found some people have same problem (one guy on this forum) but can't find any answer how to fix that.
PlexConnect does NOT break airplay, if you are having issues reboot your ATV to remove any cached DNS entries etc. (you can also reboot your router as that sometimes causes issues wi AirPlay).
You need to have PlexConnect running for the ATV to be able to resolve DNS addresses for other apps etc, this is just a limitation of the architecture.
What type of airplay are you attempting? Airplay mirroring from your a mac natively or pci sing airparrot or just regular airplay from an ios device? I use airplay or airplay mirroring from my ios devices without any issues while running PlexConnect as well. I would agree with f00b4r as this being a local issue in your case.
Everything was fine before instaling certificates for plex connect, and strange thing is that everything is working fine when I have my plex conncet turne on. I am using airplaye using my ipad. Should I open some ports in my router or make Ipad static IP? Will it have any effects?
