Airplay Issue post PlexConnect Setting on ATV 3

Hi All, 

 

I have used github process to connect my Plex media server to ATV 3 (Non Jail Broken) and it's working perfectly. 

 

My Settings -

 

My Router - 192.168.0.1

 

My Plex Media Server running on MAC OS - 192.168.0.2    [IP is persistent across reboot ]

 

My IP assigned to ATV3 - 192.168.0.3

 

I have assigned DNS manually to my ATV - 192.168.0.2    [By Default was 192.168.0.1]

 

Now I can see my Plex library in trailer into ATV3. 

 

 

Now i have strange situation like this. 

 

#1 Whenever My mac is shut off and i boot Apple TV 3  , it boot and come to Computer & Setting page. it doesn't load normal menu. 

if i switch-on my mac i see all app and shared library i.e. normal Menu.

 

I changed DNS at ATV to default one (192.168.0.1) and it booted completely with all menu app even My Mac was shut off. but obv there will be no plex library in trailer. Understood reason for this ., We need to point DNS. 

 

#2.  Whenever My mac is shut off and i boot Apple TV 3  , it boot and come to Computer & Setting page. it doesn't load normal menu. 

     

Now i have iphone and i want to airplay  you tube video to ATV without choosing mirror option just video. it doesn't work . It works only when i switch on my MAC OS. 

However Airplay with Mirror on works. But i don't want to mirror, i want to play only you tube or any video output to ATV. 

 

Did Anyone face this ?

Any Solution or Advice for Situation #2 ?

Because you change the DNS of your ATV to your Mac (plex connect host). If it is turned off your ATV can’t connect to the internet and therefore you see the page you do as you need Internet to do anything on the ATV. This included airplay. (Apples design).


Unfortunately to use an ATV that is not jailbroken while plex connect (Mac) is off you need to change you DNS to auto/the default address (or get a router that can do the DNS forwarding that plex connect is doing, which is a lot more complex)

Can any one tell me DNS forwading steps. 

I have Dlink Modem (2520) > Airport TC .
