I have a Raspberry pi 512Mb, and I installed on it rasplex. I installed Plex Media Server on my computer on the same local area network. Everything works except Airplay for videos. When I launch a video from my iPad and select Airplay to rasplex, it only streams the audio but no video.
I had previously installed XBMC and and raspbmc, and Airplay with video and audio was working properly.
If it can helps, I configured my router first with TCP, and now in UDP mode for the Plex Media Server : same result, no video.
Could you help me to make my videos Airplay working ?
I've done some test and it seems that wireless performance is worse with 0.3.1 than with previous versions. I wired up my Pi yesterday to do some further tests and after that I managed to airplay just fine from my iPad running iOS 7.02. I don't overclock and it seems the limit for my setup is a height of 720 i.e 720p.
Im running raspbmc and I have this issue times to times. It varies though. Sometimes youtube, vimeo doesn't allow it. Sometimes it's because of ios7.
Take a look at the icon on your iphone or ipad. If you select airplay and you see the rasplex device has a speaker icon next to it then it's not going to show any videos, only sound. If it has a monitor icon than you'll get video. Sometimes turn off and on my wi-fi on my phone fixes it temporarily :D
Thanks for the reply but I'm afraid it's not helping.
This was a firmware update for the Freebox. I do not have a Freebox, but a BBox (Bouygues Telecom).
In any case, my rasplex software is up to date (the server also).

Weird, I know.
Yes, it's a weird problem that occurs not only on Plex environment.
It seemed like iOS7 changed something for Airplay, that need to be re-implemented / re-coded... hope it will be soon for Plex services.
Thanks for the double tips, I'll try them : icon, and turn-off/turn-on the wi-fi, I will try...

IOS7 has changed airplay, given the airplay code comes from XMBC it needs to be updated there, last i checked (which was a week or so ago) they were not in any great rush to fix it.

Hi Ninja,
Actually I have seen quite a lot of activity from Memphiz on this over the last few weeks, they have three test builds they are asking for help with.
I also question if this is wholly a XBMC issue?
The November builds of XBMC (raspbmc) are glitched but are recognized by Airplay, sometimes they confuse audio and video capabilities. After a few attempts you can generally connect correctly though.
This is NOT the case with plex, which does not recognize any XBMC device AT ALL.
I have also found this with numerous other IOS based players. In that they work, but may be glitched.
So this seems to be a plex issue, in that it seems wholly intollerant, unlike the native, and other app based players.
Are you aware of this?
Given I suspect a large number of your customers on IOS I would suggest this is looked at.
(I for example am questioning my plex pass, as currently it is pointless for me without the IOS playback :( )
