AirPods losing volume control during playback on Apple TV

When connected to AirPods, I can control the volume using the remote of the Apple TV. I can do this on the system menu, the Plex app until I am actually viewing content. Once I do that, the volume control does nothing and the sound level is at the previously set level. If I go into the Apple TV menu, I can adjust the AirPod volume level, but it resets once the video resumes playback. If I reboot the Apple TV, it works correctly then after using it for a few days the behavior resumes. Is anyone else experiencing this? This does not happen with other apps and only happens with Plex after a few days without a reboot.

I am seeing this issue as well with my setup:

AirPods Pro - firmware: 2C54
Plex Server (QNAP TS-451+) - v1.18.4.2171
Apple TV - v13.1 (17K449)
Plex App - v2.12

I have also been able to fix the issue by pairing my iPhone with my AirPods Pro and then connecting with the Apple TV again. I have not tested nor noticed it in other apps, yet.

Experiencing the same issue with regular AirPods. No control over AirPods volume when playing content. Force closing Plex does not fix the issue, but restarting the Apple TV fixes the issue.

No other apps installed have the same problem.
