I have a lot of albums that remain unmatched, even though the albums are available at MusicBrainz. Many have been in the library for months, I was hoping that the recent fix mentioned in the release notes for the server upgrade (Butler) Periodic music refreshes didn’t refresh albums and tracks (#11475)
would correct the problem, but so far it hasn’t matched/re-matched the albums.
The support article here for scheduled tasks: (https://support.plex.tv/articles/201553286-scheduled-tasks/) says:
Over the course of the month, the server will refresh the metadata for musical artists in your library.
I can go to any of the artists and manually refresh the metadata for the artist, and the albums will become matched. Refreshing the metadata for just the album will not match the album.
The XML for an unmatched album that is available at MusicBrainz will have info similar to this
guid="mbid://a55d3f4b-6b10-4c29-b962-ac078f83edbf"
parentGuid="mbid://51adf709-f555-42e5-95f2-596df1b57809"
indicating it has the correct musicbrainz database info.
I understand that I can manually match them. I assumed that this would happen automatically, during the maintenance. I have the following settings for “Scheduled Tasks”:
- Refresh local metadata: enabled
- Update all libraries during maintenance: enabled
- Upgrade media analysis during maintenance: enabled
- Refresh metadata periodically: enabled
Is there a setting I’m missing? It seems the scheduled maintenance tasks do not refresh the metadata for artists as indicated by the support article. Repeating myself, refreshing an artist manually will match unmatched albums.
I asked earlier in this closed thread, but never received a reply:
