Not sure this should go in General, but…
I have my music sorted by Oldest First for albums.
However, with Rush, who released 2 albums in 1974, they’re sorted alphabetically, even though I’ve edited the released date information to show that Fly By Night came out before Caress Of Steel. But Plex is putting Caress Of Steel before Fly By Night.
If I specify a sort order, shouldn’t that sort order over rule any other sort order?
The sort order can be defined for the whole library (in the properties of the library, ‘Advanced’ tab)
And then can be overridden per-artist.
(Properties of the artist, again at the ‘Advanced’ tab)
Do they have conflicting settings or does this particular artist inherit the library sorting?
Are you using the hosted web app?
Which server platform are you using?
The sort order I picked is Oldest First for both the library and the artist.
In both the web interface, and the Android app, I’m seeing the same thing. Also in the Chrome Plex app.
I’m running a FreeNAS 9.10 server.
I have filed this bug already a few months ago.
So, it is known, it is on file but when it will get fixed is not sure.
