Player Version#: unknown - Amazon Echo Dot (5th gen)
I am trying to get Alexa to play music from Plex across multi-room (2 rooms) setup of Echo Dots. I can get it to play music, but it’s always on just one speaker.
What exactly do you ask Alexa to do?
What I’ve tried, that’s not working, is:
Alexa, ask Plex to shuffle playlist Christmas favorites everywhere.
The playlist name is “Christmas - Favorites”.
The speaker group is the default “everywhere” with my 2 speakers selected.
I think maybe she’s confused that “everywhere” is part of the playlist? But she doesn’t complain. I’ve tried “on everywhere” with the same result.
I’m thinking I just don’t have the right syntax.
I checked these resources but didn’t find anything that helped.

Thanks for any insights you can share!

- in Why Can't Plex stream Music to an Alexa Multi-room Group of Devices? somebody states, “AudioPlayer skills can’t use groups. It’s unfortunate and if it changes we’ll evaluate.” There’s no reference to this in any docs I found, and I’m assuming (“we’ll evaluate”) this person speaks with knowledge as Plex employee?
- Alexa not playing music on multiple echo dots - #8 by mcc05 is a thread full of people posting about the same issue, again apparently a known issue – but it’s from 2019.
