Alexa Echo playing music on multi-room device group

Server Version#: 4.142.2
Player Version#: unknown - Amazon Echo Dot (5th gen)

I am trying to get Alexa to play music from Plex across multi-room (2 rooms) setup of Echo Dots. I can get it to play music, but it’s always on just one speaker.

What exactly do you ask Alexa to do?

What I’ve tried, that’s not working, is:
Alexa, ask Plex to shuffle playlist Christmas favorites everywhere.

The playlist name is “Christmas - Favorites”.
The speaker group is the default “everywhere” with my 2 speakers selected.
I think maybe she’s confused that “everywhere” is part of the playlist? But she doesn’t complain. I’ve tried “on everywhere” with the same result.

I’m thinking I just don’t have the right syntax.

I checked these resources but didn’t find anything that helped.

Thanks for any insights you can share!

Here’s what I finally got working today:

  • Under Devices, Groups, I selected my Living Room
  • Then under Speakers I tapped Change, scrolled to the bottom and selected Everywhere under Speaker Groups

Now when I ask (from the living room, at least) Alexa to tell Plex … I don’t even have to say “everywhere”, it just works.

Thanks for this. If only PLEX worked like the Amazon Music does, allowing you to designate a target so you can request on one device to play on another…
