Is it possible to play live tv with Plex on an Echo Show? I’ve asked Alexa to play Channel say 9.1 or use the station name and get nothing.
No, Amazon has not opened it up to 3rd party apps to allow playing videos on the Show devices.
Is this still valid? Can the Show play ANY Plex content? I own 4 of these and it just occurred to me that it would be a great option if possible!
No change on Amazon’s side. We can send it some text and images, so if you play music, you will see the album/artist cover and some info on what’s playing, but we can’t do any video.

There is a 3rd party skill called Stream Player that provides live streaming from a number of TV stations. Wouldn’t this suggest that it’s possible for a Plex skill to stream video?

Yes, it is possible and easy. I watch live television all the time. Ask Alexa to open Firefox. Then use Firefox to open Plex web. Works fine. Then open to ‘Full Screen’ - simple shot included.

Which echo show is that in the picture?
I’ve tried on Firefox on a echo show 10 gen2 and the video starts playing and then I get a spinning circle, press play again and it starts and back to a spinning circle. I wonder if the echo show has enough processing power…
In the picture is the echo 8. Just tried in on one of my echo’s 5, which I have not tried previous, plays for about 20 seconds, then buffers for a few seconds. This continues no matter what I set the video stream to. I checked the network on this device - screen shot of the speeds during trying to do play back - buffering is not due to network connection. Also tried changing the audio from 5.1 to stereo, which made it not work at all. So what you state may be correct. My 8 plays fine, I do have slight buffering at full rate, so I usually decrease the video by transcoding slightly lower. I will try again on the 5 later. If I come up with something, I will post. I do not have a 10 to play with. Also checked the Plex server - this is fine.
