Alexa Plex on Fire Cube v2 - No Companion Video Device

I bought the Fire Cube v2 and connected it thru HDMI to a Philips 42pfl7422d TV.
I open PLEX (on the TV) and manually (via remote) I can select and play audio(mp3) and video(mp4) via Network share OK.
I can even cast an audio/video from a Win XPSP3 running Firefox Basilisk to the TV OK.
According to the server, 2 players are online (Fire Cube and PLEX for Android TV).
Problem is, if I ask Alexa to play one of these videos, she attempts to set the video player, then dies flashing on-screen “No Companion Devices” found.

What gives?
If XP can see them, why can’t Alexa ?
