Which weekend do you expect, in the year 2525?

We’re currently working through translating everything to German so we can begin QA on a German release. I was initially going to ask for volunteers but I think we’re currently covered there. If we end up needing additional people willing to help out with translations I’ll post in this thread.

I don’t have any ETA to share on when we’ll have a build ready to ship to production. This is the first translation we’ll be doing for Alexa and making sure we build a quality voice experience for a new language is a big priority. I will have information to share on a closed beta in the coming weeks.

@vanstinator
If any help is need, as a native German, I’d be happy to volunteer for translations and/or beta testings.

Thanks for this news before the weekend.

Also a thank you from me.
Also a native german ready for beta testing.
Qnap PMS, Echo, Echo Show, Echo Dot, IOS, Windows Client, Samsung TV (2016+)

+1 for german skill

Well, although these news sound really good and as I am clear that there will be no ETA in this stage I keep beeing sceptic. Dudes I will track this matter here and keep an eye on the process.

Also my offer, also as a native german - if any help needed, if BETA testing needs support let me know as well.

Since even native speakers often do not speak or write correctly, I would advice to check and double-check the results of translation! Especially the imperative is not used in a proper way due to dialects or ignorance (e.g. “sprEch!” instead of “sprIch!” - “sprich!” is the correct imperative of “speak!”, while “sprEch!” is just a stem or root word but not an imperative). Sometimes there are also two possible forms of the imperative like “sag”/“sage” (=“tell”), so your files should contain both forms.
If you need help translating, please feel free to ask (I am a native speaker and German teacher, too).

Hi everyone! We would love to get your help with some translation work. Here is the link to the strings that we need translated. https://www.transifex.com/plex-1/alexa/translate/#de/transifex-yml/133887598

Any and all help is appreciated!

… link says: 404 Page not found

Here, too. Page not found.

my apologies. I hadn’t changed the project from private to public. Should work now

I am still get an 404 error. What do i wrong?

If you want to help:

  • Create an account for yourself on transifex.com
  • You will be asked if you want to create a new Project or to join a Team… choose join a Team
  • You will be asked for languages that you speak… you need English and German at least
  • Search For Plex
  • You will find Alexa Project at the end of the earch results (on page 2 for me)
  • Join the Alexa team.
  • I needed to go back to the Plex search and again go to the Alexa Project to be able to start…

Just added and corrected a few hundred translations :+1:

What the heck is this time travel radio? “Zeitreise” makes no sense, so i suspect that it must be a kind of service like tune in.

They shipped with Plexamp and will be supported in Alexa in an upcoming release.

I’ve completed the translation and corrected some terms in a way that they match better, in my opinion, to the daily spoken language.

Hello support team and also the team what drives the work in the background. I own a Plex Pass and find the job you do very well. Now I think it’s time to bring the German version at the start. So get your hands on the keys and let them fly, which will also benefit everyone here in Germany from Plex and Alexa.

When can we expect the first release?
