Server Version#: 1.18.5.2309
Player Version#: 4.31.2
I have a Synology NAS that I have been testing PLEX with and one of my issues is having multiple IP address. In the past @ChuckPa had provided great feedback and in 2018 said he was writing code to select which interfaces to use or not to use. I wanted to see if there was a status on that.
All of my devices besides that server interface are saying that they are indirect.
For the benefit of users with multiple network cards and for systems such as NAS or Docker where there is always another network interface which Plex client applications may try to use to connect to the Plex Media Server, there is now the option to ignore the extra interfaces and for users to select a specific interface that Plex Media Server would announce to plex.tv thus ensuring local Plex clients would only try that interface. (Requires Plex Media Server 1.13.9 or later)
Note: A restart of Plex Media Server is required for a change in the settings to take effect.
Thank you for pointing this out. The version that is currently loaded into synology does not have this option as a dropdown. I have tried to put in the interface name but after a stop/start it still doesn’t work.
