Server Version 1.21.1.3795 running as a docker on unraid.
Everything has been working fine for several years. Then, i got an email notice saying I had a login from Malaysia, which was not expected in the middle of the day using my login name. I then logged into my account, changed passwords.
As expected, every appliance needed the new password. However, all attempts to login from exterior [to my local network i.e. through remote access] sources using my email login failed with a “user cannot be authenticated” error. Yet, all plex.tv/link devices connected without issue. For clarity, when I did the plex.tv/link method, I was on my laptop logged into the server while on the local [to the server] network, punching in the link code for an appliance on the remote network… It would seem to be some sort of authentication error when those other devices are trying to connect to the server via email login.
Today, i linked my gmail account in the server settings, then attempted a non-local network sign in using the gmail account method. It worked without authenticated issues.
I’d prefer the email login method, but am confused how to proceed.
Should i remove all existing and approved managed user appliances? How?
Server reboots? (i have restarted plex since)
Is there some sort of account token from my server, to plex, for some of my users/appliances which need to be reset?
Current logs don’t show anything glaring (though i may not have the right level of logging turned on)
All appliances on local network and those appliances on remote network which were linked, do not have issues.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
