I am running PLEX on a WD My Home Cloud devise. I experienced an error on the server “Over Hearting” After powering off to cool it was powered on again.
All music, phots and files were there, all my movies could not be found. Folders for compilations were still there.
Anyone HELP
What exactly do you mean “they’re no longer there”? Do they still show up in Plex but show a trash bin on top of their poster or a label “Not available” next to the title – or are they not available at all from within Plex?
Can you confirm the video files are still physically available in the respective folder on your WD My Cloud?
Last not least…
what version of Plex Media Server do you have installed on that WD My Cloud?
Nothing shows in PLEX Except the the collection folders. See attached

Well… if the files are gone from your file system, Plex will not be able to see them.
If you have set Plex to automatically update its libraries and to empty its “trash” after every scan, this will result in all items to “go away” if media files can be found.
I hope you have a backup of those files.
Just did a quick google search and apparently there’s other cases where users lost files after a power outage / hard shut-down – not sure there’s an obvious solution to that
