All my user library access settings get removed repeatedly

Server Version#: 1.32.3.7192
Player Version#: 4.100.1

Strange thing happening, my users who I have shared libraries with on the “Manage Library Access” screen have all their library access removed. I add them back (meaning, go and give them access to my libraries manually), then double check with them and verify they can access. Then at some point later, they are gone again. I have done this 3-4 times now over 2 -3 days. Any ideas as to why this would be happening?

UPDATE: This seems to happen once a day? I re-added my users yesterday (i can tell because this post is 23 hours old and I posted right after I re-added them) and they were there all day and night yesterday and are now gone. This is the 3rd or 4th day in a row this has happened. Is there some sort of daily clean-up job or something in Plex that could conceivably account for this?

Further details - this time when I tried to re-add my users, I couldn’t even see the Libraries in the “Library Access” screen. However, I could still watch media from those libraries. I restarted the Plex, and could re-add users to the libraries.

Are your users actually reporting that they cannot access your server anymore?
Or is it solely them vanishing from inside your Plex sharing menu?

If the latter:

  1. only use the hosted web app
  2. disable the automatic cleanup of cookies of the domain plex.tv when the web browser is closed
(Some 3rd-party apps do the same. If you use such an app, verify that they have an exception rule for plex.tv in their settings.)
  3. disable any web browser add-ins while accessing plex.tv
  4. don’t use specialized web browsers which are intentionally sabotaging web apps, like Brave or Vivaldi (at least for accessing Plex)

Users are reporting that they can’t access the libraries anymore. (And then, when I manually add them back, they are verifying they have access again)

Do you use the iOS Plex app or have it installed on the device of one of your Plex Home users?

I do have Plex and PlexDash installed on my phone. Though I rarely use them. And PlexAmp, which I use more often.

Just for the heck of it, sign these mobile apps out of your plex account and keep them that way for ~a week.
Reboot the phone.

Consider the steps 1–4 above anyway.
Monitor the situation for a few days more.

Sure, can’t hurt - have iOS apps been known to cause settings problems before or is this just a hail mary approach?

It reminds me of a weird issue I remember from a user report from months ago. It’s just a shot in the dark so far.

Okay will try, can’t hurt. Thanks for taking the time to suggest ideas!

Are you opening the web app always in a fresh browser/tab/window or are you just waking up your computer from hibernation, with several browser tabs still open?

Or are you using a feature of some browsers which do sync the open tabs across devices?

I don’t always open fresh tabs, but one of the times this happened I hadn’t been home all day so my computer was most likely asleep. Friend was watching something, then came back 30 min later and no longer had access. (My computer I use for Plex Web App, I mean, not my server)
