Library Access for User Keeps Disappearing

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Player Version#:

I have Plex server running on a Mac Mini and when I share my library with a user and they accept the invite, they are able to see the shared library for a few hours and then it disappears. I look at Managed Users and no longer see them there as well.

I have removed them, restarted the servers, signed out and signed back in, and added them again and it doesn’t fix the problem. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

If you have created a managed user (and thus, a Plex Home of your own), you should decline invitations to other user’s Plex Home.
Because if you accept, then your own Home and all the managed users in it are destroyed.
(The same happens if you click on “Leave Home” in your user settings.)

Thanks Otto. These users aren’t part of my Plex Home but users under “Manage Library Access”. I’m extending an invitation for them to my library but they see it for a few hours and then it disappears and when I check to see if they are still under Manage Library Access they no longer show up there as well.

Are you performing these invitations with the hosted web app?
Or are you using 3rd-party tools?
There are indeed “removal of share”-events logged in the invited user’s log. But they look like they were done with your user authentication.

That is weird. I’m doing it manually through the web app locally on the server only.

Please use the hosted web app. All user account and sharing stuff lives on plex.tv and you should always use the latest public app to interact with that.

Thanks Otto. I’ll give it a try again and see if the issue persists.

Hi @OttoKerner, I disabled Tautulli which had API access to Plex but am still experiencing the same issue of users being removed from my shared library. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks
