Allow deletion of files per folder/lib

It would be great if the option were avaliable to restrict deletion of media to specific libs or folders.
i.e. DVR folder but not Movies…

Wow, surprised I’m the first to comment/vote on this…then again DVR has been in beta for months now. I agree. I would want all/most users to be able to delete TV shows after watching (without relying on auto-delete policies (which I’ve heard are buggy)) but not allow users to delete content from any of the other libraries.

I like this idea especially with the dvr feature now. I want to enable deletion, but only for my dvr libraries, and I would like to be able to grant that ability to users other than myself (of course, that goes along with allowing other users to manage the dvr too).

My apologies @OttoKerner . I searched before I posted my suggestion and did not find this. I couldn’t find a way to delete my post.

I vote for this feature as well.

I would like to be able to delete DVR content only. All my DVR content are in separate libraries so being able to have delete enabled/disabled per library would be very nice.

I’m jumping on the stack. I want to be able to delete Recorded “Live” TV, but not “TV Shows” or “Movies” (that are ripped from purchased Blu-Rays). Same with photos for that matter. I have two Photo albums, one I want to be the perfect and gold standard that nothing can be deleted from or added to (at least not from Plex) and another library that is the working picture directory that allows us to delete (because they are blurry, have fingers in them, etc…)

+1 Nice, I’d like the ability to delete PVR library as don’t want risk my wife delete my entire libraries.

+1 this is a must to make photo upload and multi-user useful.

I would like to see a menu of rights that could be passed on to certain accounts by the admin.

But with only 1 votes, I don’t see this happening anytime soon.

Here’s another +1 a year and a half later. This seems like a no-brainer…so necessary…but not a lot of interest out there. :frowning:
