Thanks! Looking forward to the change! Excited you’re considering doing the same for networks!
Thanks for confirming this is being looked into/worked on @BigWheel. I appreciate your time.
Thank you for info @BigWheel.
Indeed, it would be nice to be able to add several studios.
@BigWheel, @anon18523487 hope all is well & safe for you, your family & friends. Same for all here.
Just wanted to resurrect this topic - - hoping something new now, or at least on a definitive roadmap
I’m sorry I can’t give any ETA. the team sometimes need to postpone work on something for other company priorities or bugs, etc. The task is still there so I have no reason to believe it won’t be done but I can’t give any ETA
Hi is there any update on changing the Studio field to tags?
Creating Collections based on the Studio is impossible because the source data does not provide a studio field, we cannot create collections for movies made by the likes of 20th Century Fox etc because the majority of movies scanned by the Plex metadata agent are listing small Production Companies ( many of which have contributed to as little as one or two movies in their existence) as the Studio.
We understand that the developers feel they have other priorities, and management will think so too, but as it stands the data in Plex after the metadata scan is completed is actually incorrect and this change will allow us as collectors to fix our libraries immediately.
It may not be a priority for Plex management but it’s important for us the customer. If we have 1,000’s of movies we should be able to use the Smart Collection option to organise those according to the studios, at the moment we cannot without a massive amount of manual work.
Hi @BigWheel , could you please provide an update on this?
It’s been 2 years now that this is available for Plex Movies (example), so it must be coded somewhere already, yet this is unavailable to us. Thank you.
would love to see this feature as well. Any update on this getting worked on?
Sorry i don’t have an update
So how does this issue fare now that the studio field is no longer displayed? Has this just been scrapped?
According to another Plex Employee, the field was removed from display for accuracy and consistency, but wouldn’t allowing multiple studios be a way to help accuracy?
It seems there are a lot of Plex employees who really hate what this app was and just want to create a dumbed down clone of every other streaming service.
They removed genre from TV show profile pages on Apple TV, Directors and Writers were removed from all movie profile screens. This isn’t making Plex better. This isn’t the app to practise minimalism.
