Allow users to design custom GUI’s… MANY software programs allow this. Release the SDK for the GUI and then users can go nuts with it!!! Users could then share their GUI’s with others. Just like being able to design a new look/feel for Firefox, Chrome, etc… This way you don’t take up the developers time. They (developers) must already have a way to edit the GUI themselves… release it and let the users do the work!!! They could then have an OFFICIAL GUI page where APPROVED (means they actually work correctly on the clients they are designed for) GUI’s can be installed by others.
This would really take PLEX to the next level. The only thing the devs would have to code in would be an easy way for users to switch the GUI they wish to use. And please, if done, make it so GUI’s can be associated with accounts… So a KIDS account can have a KIDS GUI, and other users of a server could choose their own GUI…and or server operator can set a GUI for each account.
