Allow me to select a different tv provider for a second tuner

So here’s my dilemma. I have two tuners that use different tv providers. One of them contains channels from a different country. Plex sees both of them no problem and scans the channels with no issues. However only the first tuner allowed me to select a tv provider. The second one had to piggy back on the first tv provider. I think that’s wrong especially that on the channel screen, it still allows me to choose the country, so why not let me also choose the tv provider as well?

I have the same problem; I have two HDHomeRuns, but one of them is hooked up to cable and the other one is hooked up to the antenna. I get channels on the antenna that I don’t get over cable, so I can’t just use the cable lineup and map the channels on the antenna to their equivalents, either.

Can I add a request for this as well. I would love to have UK Freeview on one tuner and German Satellite on the other. At the moment I’m having to use TVHeadend to do this.

Yeah, I’ve mentioned this before.

The issue here is that the Plex DVR setup wont allow for dissimilar signals for the tuners. Let alone dissimilar signals from different providers or regions.

Part of the problem here is that Plex devs probably wanted to simplify the setup and their own development process but the end result is a restrictive and archaic implementation.

They really need to fix this IMO,…

Doing what you ask is a bit more complicated than you might think and they are slow enough fixing issues and wanted upgrades as it is. You can always set up a second server for the second provider.

It very well may be complex but that didn’t stop other DVR solutions from being able to do this approximately 10 years ago.

I’m not trying to be overly critical but if one is intent on reinvent the wheel one might also want to get the basic overall round shape right,…
