I have esome movies owned on iTunes or Google Play Movies - I would love to be able to find the movie and tell plex “I own this on iTunes” and have it show up in my library and when I go to play it, it takes me to itunes/apple TV. This would make plex a one-shop stop for ALL my movies I own. I understand I would have to do it manually but I think that’s fine for the vast majority of people.
There’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option to add content from discover to a local library, pointing to a specific streaming service. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
That ones similar but seems to be about adding other shows on other streaming services to your playlists. I’m talking about ones purchased elsewhere (not on streaming services elsewhere) showing up in my library.
I mean, they’re similar, but I think I’m asking for something differently. If the Plex crew view it as the same though, then that’s fine.
It seems to be the same feature to me… you both want to create a record in your libraries that’ll point to a specific streaming provider. If you’re doing this for items you own/purchased on that particular platform or for some other reason seems to be a technicality.
