Allow to customize the temp folder for optimized version

I’m having this issue as well with similar setup (Rclone + Plex on VPS). I’m not sure what is going on with the .inProgress folder on my remote location (Google Drive). Plex cannot read the final output file and the optimized versions therefore doesnt work.

Is it possible to change the temp / inProgress folder location? It would make sense optimization process would use the “Transcoder temporary directory” and then on conversion completion move the output file to final target location.

Everyone please Vote for this Feature Suggestion, perhaps it gets implemented at some point…

Specify a location for the folder "inProgress" used by Optimize Media transcoding feature

I have my library setup to optimize the last 150 TV shows and 150 movies added to my library and to place the optimized version with the original version. This all works fine. When Plex does it’s transcoding, it creates a folder at the target video file location called “inProgress” (sometimes it’s preceded by a dot) where it does the transcoding. This causes me 2 problems, My movies are on a different server then the plex server so it’s transcoding across my network I’m using Stablebit disk…

Can I change the Optimize Transcoder's cache folder?

I find out transcode for optimize will create “.inProgress” folder under target folder temporarily. Can I change .inProgress folder’s location? Like put it into ram disk?
