Hear me out on this. I have been going through the tedious task of rating all my music. It would be helpful if I could make a smart playlist of TRACK RATING IS then zero or blank no star rating. This would propagate a playlist of all my tracks that I haven’t rated yet. Then as I rate them from the playlist it would automatically drop them from the playlist. I tried to do this today and it will not do it. If you leave the stars empty it just gives you every track you have on your server. I can’t think of any other easy way except looking in each album one at a time for the tracks I need to rate. This would be extremely helpful if I could list all tracks that don’t have a star rating.
Looks like I found a work around. Use the filter at top. Set it to ALL/TRACKS then only use title and Date rated. I’m experimenting but I think it will work.
It’s not pretty but it works by clicking the tab that says date rated arrow down. As you listen and rank just refresh by clicking the same tab twice and the ones you just rated will go to the bottom of the list.
You can filter for unrated items.
Plexamp is showing a dedicated filter option which makes it very straightforward
On Plex Web it’s also possible but slightly more tricky… you actually have to set a zero star rating and cannot leave the control in its default state. Visually there’s currently no difference in Plex Web.
To set the filter to 0 stars, it’s easiest to click on the star ratings, holding your mouse button down and drag it to the left until no stars are selected. You can also achieve that by finding and clicking a super tiny spot just left of the 1st star (which I find harder to hit/do).
Tada… smart collection/playlist with only unrated tracks
2023 clean-up: considered implemented (feature is already available).
