Alphabet picker disappeared on Samsung tv

Server Version#: 1.18.0.1846 on Ubuntu server
Player Version#: 4.5.1 Plex for Samsung Tizen 4.0

Somehow the alphabet picker on the right has disappeared in the movies folder and it makes it more or less unusable at the moment scrolling down to S or so is impossible with over +1000 movies.

Hello,

it is the same for me. Movies & TV Show alphabet pickers have disappeared.

Is it a regression since the last release ?

It’s vanished for me on the most recent MacOS version of Plex Media Player as well :frowning:

Yes just checked on my mac too and it is gone in the Player App. I normally access plex on the mac in chrome and it is still pressent here.

It must be a bug as it makes thing more or less useless, especially in a TV that doesn’t have a scroll bar to move with a mouse.

Mines disappeared too, the space for it hasnt been taken by anything else, so really hoping its a bug as my large libraries will be totally unusable without it.
Samsung RU Tv, all software on TV and PC at latest releases

Hope this is a bug/oversight as makes scrolling through thing tedious. Can’t believe they would remove such a useful function

Could somebody from plex please respond to this matter.

It is not really useful in the long run having to type in the search field to get to a movie as it is nearly impossible to scroll through 1000 movies to get to one that starts with T.

If it is something you have turned off please atleast make an option for it to be turned on again. And if it is a bug I hope that you will look in to it.

I’m really not trying to be that guy but honestly this is a deal breaker.

Can we get an estimated time until it’s fixed so I can start working on switching to Emby if needed?

Plex typically doesn’t publicly provide estimates for fixes.

I emailed Plex directly and while they also did not provide a time frame they were able to give a status update.

“The issue is already fixed in version 4.11.0 of our smart TV app (Alphabet picker disappeared on Samsung tv). We’re working with Samsung to get the updated app released on Samsung, but we don’t have any specific details on when that will be available, apologies.”

So now we know they have the issue fixed and are working with Samsung to get it pushed to us which is a lot more of an acceptable answer than “they’re working on it”.

I still don’t understand why this thread has been marked solved though

I marked it solved because we now know that plex is working on the issue.

The “Solved” doesn’t refer to how to solve the problem as it is out of our hands but it refers to that we got an ansver to the problem - that it is been worked on and it will eventually work again.

It is not solved, because the issue is still present. It exists on my Samsung TV, as well as another issue with not seeing anything on a household user’s library (“Nothing to see here” when browsing “All” movies?). I have BOTH problems, created the forum post in the correct location as directed, but haven’t gotten any response.
I try to defend the devs in these forums from irate people, most of whom haven’t even paid for the Plex pass, but it’s getting hard to justify.
