+1. I just want to sync up external commentaries for movies, like Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel one recently and Batman v Superman. I know there are others out there that have provided external commentaries from the included audio tracks.

This would be great
I would like this too.
I kinda was disappointed that plex not already supported this option,
don’t see the real reason why it doesn’t already,
being it can handle external subs so why not external audio tracks ?
This is a must-have feature for a great player like Plex. Hope the devs can implement it.
I would very much like this feature
Huge plus 1 here for the feature.
+1, I’d love this feature too. As mentioned above, external audio tracks handled similarly to subtitles. A plus/minus milliseconds option for manually correcting synchronisation issues would be perfect!
This would be a great feature. My family speaks French and I would love to be able to play a dub audio track alongside.
Here is my vote! Also, considering it’s possible to transcode just the audio stream on the fly, I cant understand why it’s hard to implement this! Heck, give me access to the source code, and I’ll do it myself!
I would love to see this functionality added!
very well needed feature… i know i can mux files together, but it’s a pain and also changes original movie mkv file which is bad for… well, many reasons :))
Muxing an additional audio track into your file is changing the file… how (beyond adding the additional stream)? Muxing does not transcode / touch your video or existing tracks
yep, that’s the issue, that the original file is not untouched
I have very good reasons for keeping original file as is. I’d need to keep 2 copies, one original, second muxed and thats a huge waste of space…
+1 Also it would be a great feature if we could store the audio track files in different place of server’s storage from original movie path. For not to touch the folders structure of the video files.
+1 this will bring my plex streaming experience to the new level!
+1 Would be extremely helpful!

i need for different resolution only one audio file.
Would love this feature - my husband is German and it would be great to watch films I already have dubbed in German - already found the audio files for some so would love to be able to choose which audio file is used!
If they’re based on the same video… just merge/mux them into your existing video. You can already do that with MKVToolNix (open the 1st file, then append the audio track from the 2nd file)
