Alternate metadata agent for TV shows

I've got a bunch of Curious George Episodes I've recorded for my kids. When aired they are shown in two episode blocks. TVRage has this format with two titles/one episode:

http://www.tvrage.com/Curious_George_US/episode_list/1

However, they aren't available as a metadata agent in Plex and they're several seasons behind.

The TVDB has each episode numbered individually in either aired or DVD order:

http://thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=season&seriesid=79429&seasonid=16388&lid=7&order=aired&order=dvd&order=aired

I can name the files s01e01-02 and get two listings for the single file but clicking the second episode doesn't start where the second episode is, it just starts off the file at the beginning.

I don't want to go through and manually split the files to match the TVDBs listings.

Are there any alternate metadata agents I could use? Otherwise, is there some documentation somewhere as far as how to manually update the metadata on the files so Local Media Assets would scan it in the format I'm looking for?

Thanks

Having the same problem. IMDB also has the listing correct for how they are airing, but I can’t figure out how to tell Plex use that if it’s possible.

To my knowledge this is your only option for it to work properly but the file will always start from the beginning.

Do you have chapters within the file? If you do, then you can always skip directly to the chapter that starts on episode 2. Otherwise, my understanding is that you have to split the file into two if you want them to start correctly.

Kamhouse - Are you referring to the same series “Curious George” IMDB Series ID 79429? Or another series? If another, please can you let us know what series ID so I can look it up and give you guidance on naming your file correctly so Plex picks it up.

On the IMDB you’ll notice they have half as many episodes with double names vs The TVDB where they list every episode individually and end up with twice as many.

The shows are airing the way IMDB lists them.

Yea, I see your issue. I think this may be hard to work around as the two agents for shows are TheTVDB & The Movie Database, which both show the same episode breakdown:

I may be wrong here but i think your only option is to split the files or just manually edit the ones you know are combined with the meta data info after you’ve uploaded all your files.

I came across some interesting metadata plugins that may be helpful for some users

The official Plex page on how to install plugins: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201187656-how-do-i-manually-install-a-plugin/?_ga=2.183053094.1409762066.1560170950-222072615.1541778456

Github page with Plex Meta Data agents - https://github.com/plexinc-agents

However, this list still does not have an IMDB agent, so not sure how helpful this could be to you. May be worth requesting that someone build a Github bundle for an IMDB meta data agent
