Amazon Echo w/ Harmony Hub and Plex

logitech has added alexa support for hub-based harmony remotes. does this mean we can now use voice control for plex? has anyone tested this? i have a harmony one and will probably get a harmony hub if i can control plex via amazon echo commands. thanks!

No. The integration allows you to do only 2 things currently. Start & Stop activities and tune to pre-defined channel favorites via your Cable/Satellite box.

It all works great but is a bit limited at this point. There isn’t even any video playback control yet. I have to say tho even in the week I’ve been using it I’ve already stopped using my Elite to turn anything on or off or switch activities. Voice activation is great for this.

Hopefully more control will come in another release. Google’s Home hub is right around the corner. I have it pre-ordered and will get it next week. I look forward to seeing what integration it has, if any. It looks to have pretty tight Google Cast integration so I’m really hoping you can define your preferred video cast app as Plex and have it look to it first when looking for media.

Aside from all that I highly recommend the Harmony Hub. It’s a great piece of kit. It has integration with IFTT which really expands it’s already great capabilities.
