Hi,
currently i have PMS running on a RaspberryPi 2 and one RaspberryB+ as client.
The setup works, but is somehow laggy and crashes every so often.
I now thought i might buy an AMazon Fire Stick as a client instead of the raspberry.
Does anyone have any expirience with the fire stick and Pi2 Server?
Can the fire stick play most of the files without transcoding?
Would be great to get some infos from you guys.

No the FireOS devices are limited almost exclusively down to mp4/h264/aac with a few other restrictions/surprises. Anything running PHT or a smaller version will have a much better selection of decoders over the FireStick.
I personally, don't have any issues with it. But I have mine set to 720p with no extra audio options enabled so my server handles a lot of transcoding/remuxing for the device.
Thanks for the quick answer.
i am still thinking about grabbing a fire Stick, for prime tv and maybe netflix in the future.
Does anyone know if there is any good too for re-decoding a huge video database to compatible settings?
