Hello,
I find a lot of confusing information about the max. H264 Level for the FireTV 4k.
When I look here:
https://developer.amazon.com/de/docs/fire-tv/device-specifications-fire-tv-stick.html
It says:
H.264 . Hardware accelerated up to 1080p @ 30fps or 720p @ 60fps, 20 Mbps, High Profile up to Level 4.
Does this mean, that the max Level I should set Plex to is also 4 ?
Any helpful response appreciated.
Cheers

The level on the Fire Stick 4K in the Plex app has traditionally been set to 5.2.
I would hope the level 4 on Amazon’s docs is incorrect or just rounded down, as HD video has been level 4.1 as a standard going back to plain 1080p blu-rays.
See chart here:
As the term is used in the standard, a "level" is a specified set of constraints that indicate a degree of required decoder performance for a profile. For example, a level of support within a profile specifies the maximum picture resolution, frame rate, and bit rate that a decoder may use. A decoder that conforms to a given level must be able to decode all bitstreams encoded for that level and all lower levels.
