Fire TV 4k - Transcoding to 1080p

I have recently noticed that the recommended h264 level is 1.0 on the Fire 4k devices and now these devices are transcoding the 4k files to 1080p.

I have settings correct, so MAXIMUM or ORIGINAL on the video and audio, with Passthrough as HDMI. Playing with these settings make no difference.

No matter which Fire device, I get the same issue and it has only recently started.

Any ideas?

Did you set the Fire Stick 4K’s level back where it should be (L 5.2)?

tried at 5.2 and also 5.1 (which is what I have always had it as).

My Shield is set to 5.1 and does not have this issue.

I am having same issue when playing back I get transcode reason: 4K playback is not supported on this device.

Me also, but it stills says that the 1.0 is recommended for this device. This better get fixed fast
