Damn, I always wondered why my rx580 doesn’t do anything even when I set it to compute.
I guess I’ll plug in 1070 or 1080
The GPU will try to transcode but the results aren’t always that pretty (as mentioned in the support article).
Software encoding usually provides better quality anyway but at the expense of hitting the CPU.
