"An error occured while attemting to play this video" - only for 1 user, a 2nd is ok. Why?

Very strange

My wife (User A) is trying to watch a video using our android TV (Sony Bravia TV) and get an error “An error occured while attemting to play this video”. No error code on the screen. She tried another video (next in the list) - no problem.
I have tried the same “error video” (as User B) and I can play it.
Then I have tried of my Samsung S23 Ultra (from office / remote), User A (my wife) = error, User B (me) = ok
And also a Windows Client. User A = ok, User B = ok

What can this be, that Android cannot play a video as User A, but as User B there is no issue.

Pls help, because my wife is the most important user…if her account cannot watch her favorite video, I have a problem at home

It seems, its the pre selected subtitels. When I try User A without the subtitels its working (same as User A)

Confirmed: When I select subtitles “Language (vobsub external)” then I get an error when trying to playback. Without a subtitel or a downloaded opensubtitel it is working.

Is this a bug? Error?

Its the wrong format of the subtitles. They are in a folder “subs” with .idx and and .sub files. Windows Client can read this (it seems so) but the android client creats an error.
And unfortunately the automatic download of subtitles isnt available anymore.

Need to find a solution whch will download all subtitles in one go
