Hi,
I’ve just set up the DVR and am having an issue. I am running Plex 1.7.5.4035 on Ubuntu 12.04. I was able to find my digital tuner (an older HD HomeRun, model HDHR3-US) and scan channels, and download program guide data. When I attempt to watch something from the program guide, I only see the option to record and do not see the option to view live TV. When I try to record, an entry appears in the recording schedule but there is a circle with an exclamation point inside a triangle, and when I hover over it, it says “An unknown error occurred”. I’ve tried looking through the Plex logs but don’t see anything obvious to indicate the problem. I can see folders in the .grab directory where I’ve specified to save the recordings.
Any suggestions on what to look at next?
Thanks…
I noticed that I was not running the latest HD HomeRun firmware, so I updated to 20161117 but that did not help.
I’ve attached a Plex Media Server log file. You can see at 15:30:21.417 that DVR:Segmenter creates a new recorder on localhost port 32600. Then, at 15:30:21.457, there is an error with the transcoder where that URL returns an HTTP 5xx error. In the logs at 15:30:21.459 it indicates DVR:Recorder “Error 14 starting the record, shutting things down.”
In the Plex Tuner Service log file, 1ms before the 500 error occurs, I see this:
Jul 09, 2017 15:30:21.456 [0x7f9450933700] INFO - * web_service_t::process_start_channel (device dvb#hdhr#0#271630695, channel 2.3)
Jul 09, 2017 15:30:21.456 [0x7f9450933700] WARN - [E] web_service_t::process_start_channel. No channel tuning parameter in request params
Any ideas?
I had the same problem with a similar setup. I reverted to a previously installed version (1.7.2.3878) and everything started working again. I recommend reverting.
Running latest Plex version ( 1.8.0.4109). I have 2 tuners ( HDHomeRun CONNECT and EXTEND ). It will randomly return that error message. Does not seem to matter which station. The firmware on those 2 units are current as well.
