I see that pihole is blocking the attempts that happen every 30 seconds. Why is the frequency so high?
That’s an interesting network topology you have there; it’d be a shame if something happened to it. Just kidding. That looks a lot like there are VMs or containers are involved, which are definitely relevant in conversations such as these.
What is the client at 172.18.0.1, which is generating those requests? Though a retried lookup every 30 seconds isn’t that obnoxious, I’m curious to see which client is doing that. I don’t see that on my own network with a Pi-hole.
If i recall the Android app will retry when it fails, if it is blocked it thinks it failed. I made a request to ask that it stop trying if it fails more than x times in a row not too long ago. Do you know which app is doing it, or if it is the server?
Pihole is running in a docker container that’s the 172.18.0.1
The Plex app runs on 3 different android devices around the house.
I have the exactly same issue.
Plex client is on 2 Android TV devices, one Android tablet and one Android smartphone.
My network is getting hammered every 30 seconds from all four devices (2 requests per each device).
The only way to stop is to “Force quit” the Plex app on each device after every time I’m done watching something.
I’ve unchecked the " Send playback data to Plex" box on the Privacy Preferences page, but this issue persists.
