Analyze selected media no longer available?

Hello

Plex crashed during the media analysis of about 2000 items that I’ve added to my library. That’s not why I’m opening this thread.

This KB article : https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200289336-Analyze-Media indicates that you can select multiple items from the web interface and analyze the selection, however this option does not appear to be available in newer versions of PMS or Plex Web.

There is no ability that I can find to select 2-3 movies or 2-3 tv series and selectively analyze them.

Now I have items in my library that won’t play because the analysis was halted prematurely and Plex did not resume (I get a “This item cannot be played.”). If i analyze the file manually, the item can play without any problems.

I can analyze the whole TV show library but having 20,000 episodes, that is going to take forever.

How can I analyze only what I know I’ve added without doing the whole library?

Thanks.

What makes you think Analysis is no longer available? It is under the ellipsis ( . . . ) on the left screen side.

Are you using a zoom factor larger than 100% in your web browser? Try resetting it by pressing CTRL+0

It’s not.

Try selecting multiple items (Multiple shows, multiple seasons of a show or multiple episodes of a season) and click the ellipsis.

You’ll only see Optimize and a few other options, no Analyze.

I only checked with movies, since that is what you mentioned first. And it works for these.

But for tv shows it is not possible to mark several items and have Plex only analyze these.
I have to enquire internally for more info on this.

There is a small ray of hope: If you switch your tv show library to the ‘Episode’ view mode, you can multi-select and analyze episodes.

Yep that did it.

Weird it’s not available from the Show List/Season List anymore.
