Android APK missing manual connections

Plex Player versions after 6.4.1 removed the ability to manually connect to local Plex server. This is more so a request to add this feature back in because it makes users side load 6.4.1 from 2017 in order to watch shows when the internet goes out or if they want to watch offline. This is a core part of why people make Plex servers in the first place. If we wanted to use Plex accounts to watch show through the internet we would just pay for Netflix. Please add manual connections back into future versions of the FireTV APK. It’s hard to understand why it was removed.

Devices running Plex Player: FireTV stick and FireTV Omni
Issue repeatable?: Yes, all versions after 6.4.1 cannot input manual connections on FireTV devices.
Does it work with other TVs?: Yes, a Samsung smart TV and Roku device can set up manual connections without having to annoyingly sign into an account.

The android app should still be able to access your server when the internet goes out. If it can’t there’s something else gong on.

Regardless of that, the setting you are looking for connected the client insecurely to your server. You can still do that if you really want. The setting was moved to the server side. So instead of putting the server ip into the client, you add the client ip to the server. Look under the network settings tab. You want the box for:

List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth
