On the Android app on the version above no thumbnails are loading for me on Nvidia Shield, Firestick 4K and my Android phone Plex app.
My Plex on Tizen for Samsung is displaying thumbnails OK.
Just wondering if anyone else if having similar issues?

So you have the same issue I wonder if its a common issue?
What server version are you running? I am not sure if it is because I am running on a older version?
I have been having all sorts of issues with the recent Android app on my Shield and my phone.
I’m not sure what version I’m running on my phone and Shield, but they auto updated in the past month and I’ve had all sorts of problems.
The first issue was no movie/TV “posters” or thumbnails on my Shield and on my phone.
The second issue I’ve been having is that my Shield randomly shows that my server is not available, yet my PC on the same internet connection has zero issues accessing the server. To fix it on my Shield I have to close and open the Plex App multiple times until it shows that it has connected to the server.
The third issue is my Shield Plex app keeps thinking that a show is still playing and shows it at the top of the Shield Home screen. Plex knows about this issue.
I was able to fix the first issue with the thumbnails by disabling http2 in my NGINX config file, which is not something I want to do, but this fixed the issue with the thumbnails.
The second issue is random and I have not been able to fix it.
All sorts of issues started after a recent server update and recent app updates.
It’s a bit of a odd problem because my other devices are OK like my Samsung TV Plex app just the Android ones which are running this version:
If I downgrade the Android app, thumbnails start to work fine otherwise all I get is:
So I am a bit lost is it my server that needs updating to work with the latest Plex client? Version 1.16 has been rock solid for me.
I have also been having issues with my Shield and had to clear the data and cache for it to stabilise but the thumbnails never came back.
My Firestick 4K which has been rock solid started playing up yesterday with no connections to the server so had to clear the data and partitions on that and that now seems to be working but without thumbnails.
But like I said when you downgrade the Plex app it shows all thumbnails?
I just updated to the latest Plex server version 1.18.2.2058 but still no thumbnails on Android apps?
Looks like Plex are releasing another update which should hopefully fix the issue, I just installed on my phone and thumbnails are back so hope this fixes for all Android devices.
Just wondering when the new apps are going to be released to the Play Store and Amazon store so I can update my apps because they are missing thumbnails running the 14216 version.
