Android app doesn't load all movies

@BigWheel
Thanks for taking the time. Hopefully that intel might give the devs a head start in nailing down the issue. Its not end of world but it is a bit of a naff bug.

Having the same problem. Any updates? also some movies do not open(respond) unless I refresh

I’m having the same issue as well. It’s as stated above specific movie that can be found by searching and only occurs when scrolling quickly.

Clearing bundles and optimizing the DB doesn’t fix the issue.

I believe this may have to do with the library size and the efficiency of the plex parser to find the correct data. When I’m giving it time or changing to a new library then back asking it to re-get the data sometimes it loads. I think the search of media information needs to be optimized for larger libraries maybe. The one I’m having issues with is a size of 2098.

I created a new server on another machine with about 60 movies and I still have the same problem. I believe this can be a performance issue, but only if it affects API calls.

I discovered that version 7.26.0.14578 (without bug) calls the API with a Plex-Container-Size of 50.
Which means the app get metadata every 50 items.
Version 7.27.0.15018 and higher (with bug) calls the API with a Plex-Container-Size of 20.

Is it possible that 20 items are not enough to allow the app to call the API correctly?
Because when the app is scrolled, the app needs to make API calls more often than before.

It may have nothing to do with the bug, but I think it’s important to point out that the first version with the bug has a Plex-Container-Start of 20 rather than 50.

API calls (load 100 movies) :

can any one grab a log from the current version of Android where this is happening 8.1.x

I don’t know if this will interest you, but I found a way to always produce the bug on the 21st movie.

  1. Open movies library
  2. Scroll until you see a blank movie (force load the next 20 movies)
  3. Refresh the library (at the top)
  4. 21st movie doesn’t load

Thanks I’ll pass it along.

just to be sure i understand. so 21st movie is not loading. Then you add a new movie that end up like the 15th ( or whatever before 20) so what was 20th gets pushed to 21st and that is now the one that is not loading? and what was 21st is now 22nd and loads

No problem and everything you said is correct.

Actual state :
	19th = "About Schmidt"
	20th = "The Accidental Spy"
	21th = "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective"
Result:
	Ace Ventura: Pet Detective doesn't load

Add a collection/movie named "a"

New state :
	20th = "About Schmidt"
	21th = "The Accidental Spy"
	22th = "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective"
Result:
	The Accidental Spy doesn't load

Thanks you
