Music is taking 10-30 seconds or more to start playing in the plex android app. I can go to plex.tv in chrome on my phone and music starts playing instantly, so i feel this is a bug in the app.
Server version is 1.12.1.4885
App version is 7.3.2.6276
Phone is 2016 Google Pixel
Android version is 9.0 Pie
There is some slight delay when playing using the Android App vs Browser. However, I notice the Android App is much quicker on the same WiFi network as the Plex Server and plays almost at the same pace as a browser. Perhaps this could be due to relay. Can you try using a direct connection and see if the same thing happens? Also, what is your back end file system setup as? I was noticing similar delay when my back end for music was stored in a cloud provider and since moving to local storage, the lag significantly reduced.
All my music is stored locally. Music plays faster (5 second delay rather than 30 seconds remotely) on same network as pms, but even 5 seconds is a long pause between songs imo.
Songs play instantly in browser whether I’m on same network or streaming remotely and thats what i want in the app
Same thing with me. Android app on my phone takes upwards of 10sec to start aying a song. Nvidia shield TV plays songs pretty much instantly. Both using the same wifi on my local network
Out of curiosity I just performed a quick test. I connected my Android app to LTE and tried counting once I clicked on a track. Max I waited was 4 seconds before it started playing. I did a recording https://youtu.be/0q3n_Kl-4Ec
