When listening to an album or playlist via Plex on Android Auto, after the last song ends, you are presented with the “Plex isn’t working right now” message. You must then switch to a different music player (such as YouTube Music, which actually works) and then back to Plex to get it working again. This has been going on for the past year.
I am setting myself a reminder to bump this thread so that it will not die until fixed.
I just remembered that this also happens for the Plex app on the NVidia shield, but in a different way. If you let an album/playlist end everything seems fine. But when you then select another album to play, no audio comes out. The track appears to be playing back, but no audio is produced. You must force-quit the application for it to start working again.
I’ve already ditched Plex for YouTube Music because they support uploading your own music now. I’m just sticking around to see how long it takes them to address this simple issue.
I am having the same issue, but for me the app will play two songs then stop. I have to unlock my phone and touch the screen again and the next song will load. It doesn’t matter if the music is synced locally or streamed. So much frustration with the android app right now.
I can confirm this issue happens to me as well on Android Auto. Last song in a list plays, and Plex/AA basically crashes and the only way to get back to the Plex menu is for me to unplug my device (G S9) from the vehicle and plug it back in.
