This is my experience with plex. How can I get it to fill my screen so I don’t have black border everywhere ?
Your video file contains thick black borders on top and bottom.
Plex doesn’t know that. It assumes that all pixels in your file are important. So it tries to fit them all on your display. Since the video files has a 4:3 aspect ratio, it can only fit it vertically on your wide screen.
The result is black borders on all sides.
Solution: load the video file into Handbrake.fr and cut off the black borders.
OttoKerner has the permanent solution (and the one I use), but a secondary solution is to set “Display Mode” in the “Playback Settings” of the video to “Zoom” (slider will be all the way to the right).
The drawback of this is that you’ll have to change it back for videos that don’t have the black boxes all the way around. The setting is for all videos, not just the one you’re playing.
Yea that won’t work. It’s 4k 60gb file or so. I’m not reprocessing it. Why does plex not have pinch to zoom?
@FlaTechNole21 that seems to be working thanks!
