Android Plexamp very low volume on AAC

This has been bugging me for years, but plexamp absolutely cannot properly play songs that are AAC. This has been across two different pixel phones two. When I first noticed it when playing over my car stereo i didn’t hear a thing but when I listen to it via headphones I can very faintly hear it. It ONLY happens with AAC songs, and while I’m not entirely sure I’m 90% sure all of the AAC songs I have are like this. When I check the individual files they all have a gain of like -50 compared to -10–20 for other songs which no doubt plays a part, however the regular plex apps and browser player function normally. Is plexamp missing a post processing step the other players have, or is plexamp doing something extra/different?

Do you create your own music albums by combining files from different sources?
Do you have loudness levelling activated in plexamp?
Do you have loudness analysis activated on the server side?

Yes, Yes, and Yes

The fault lies in item #1
Plex will not compute the loudness of each track individually, but will assess all tracks of an album together. i.e. if there is just one egregiously loud (or defective) track among them, then all other tracks on that album are going to sound very quiet.

Ok, but then why the disparity between playback methods?

Also I misread your question here-- i combine albums and tracks from different sources, but critically the albums at fault were obtained complete
