Plex client on nvidia shield will resume playing the audio if left paused for >5 minutes. when you press a button on the remote to dismiss the screen saver, it will give the error “problem playing the video, please restart plex client or plex media server” and the progress will have advanced as far as its played. Happens every time I pause content on my nvidia shield TV.
What’s your setting here look like?
Around here we hand deliver a live hand grenade to ‘Pausers’ - in 5 minutes.
(the pause turns to stop - like magic)
Not sure how that works on Shield, but over here it’s very effective.
(you may have some ignorance in a post-boot-action as yet undiscovered)

(also, check the Shield itself for a screensaver - disable that one, for now, probably)

Well actually this has happened to me occasionally over the last few weeks with the Shield on the last couple of Android beta’s.
Though now I think about it, not on the latest one.
